What is Arm Lift Aesthetics?

Arm lift surgery is the process of obtaining a more taut skin structure by the recovery of sagging in the arm in cases such as aging, genetic factors or rapid weight gain. Since these sagging in the arm occur in the form of a lack of self-confidence in people because they create an aesthetically bad appearance, it is a surgical intervention that people frequently apply and has a high success rate. Arm lift surgery is performed to improve the appearance of saggy skin in the lower part of the arm. Due to rapid weight loss or aging, sagging of the arm skin may occur. How is Arm Lift Surgery Performed?

If it is needed during the surgery, the first application is made with liposuction, then the excess skin that causes sagging on the arm is surgically removed. The surgery is performed with local anesthesia and takes an average of 1.5-2 hours. In some patients, the procedure can also be performed under general anesthesia and it is requested to stay in the hospital for one day. It is performed in three different ways as mini arm stretching, standard arm stretching and extended arm stretching. The most appropriate surgical technique is determined according to the sagging condition in the arm.

Mini Arm Lift: An incision is made in the armpit area and the operation is started. This procedure is suitable for people with little sagging of the skin. By liposuction, the arm is thinned and the excess skin is pulled under the armpit.

Standard Arm Stretch:An incision is made from the armpit to the elbow. Since the cutting process is done from the inside of the arm, no traces are visible when viewed from the front and back.

Extended Arm Stretch: An incision is made from the elbow to the lateral chest wall. It is the most effective surgical method for patients with excessive arm sagging. A more prominent scar can be seen compared to other methods.

What Causes Sagging In The Arms?

The most important reason for sagging in the arms is the signs of aging. With aging, it appears in the form of loosening of the body and sagging, primarily in the arm region. Another reason is genetic factors and sagging in the arms can be seen at an early age. In cases of rapid and frequent weight gain and loss, sagging in the arms can be seen.

What is the Process After Arm Lift Surgery?

Since arm lift surgery is not a difficult operation and is performed under anesthesia, it is a very comfortable operation for the patient and the doctor. If local anesthesia is applied to the patient, the patient starts walking immediately after the operation and is discharged. However, if the patient was operated under general anesthesia, he or she is discharged 1 day later. After the surgery, there may be a feeling of pain and pain in the area where the surgery was performed, but these pains can be prevented with the painkillers given by your doctor. Swelling and edema may occur in the area where the operation was performed, but these swellings will completely disappear within 2-3 weeks. Since 2-3 weeks is a healing process, it is necessary to lift weights and avoid work that requires effort before this process.
